The IRAM (Institute for Millimeter Radio Astronomy) in Grenoble (France) is an international research institute, a world leader in its field, funded by France, Germany, and Spain. IRAM operates two observation sites: NOEMA, the interferometer on the Plateau de Bure in the French Hautes-Alpes, and a 30-meter telescope located at Pico Veleta (Spain). These two observatories rank among the most advanced radio telescopes in the world.

As part of the development and production of detectors for our observatories, we are seeking:
A Nanofabrication and Cleanroom Technician (M/F)
Job Profile
Fabrication of devices in a cleanroom environment using micro- and nanotechnology processes: optical and electron lithography, thin-film deposition via PVD and electrochemistry
Production characterization and quality control: optical and electron microscopy, electronic measurements at very low temperatures (4 Kelvin)
Maintenance and servicing of cleanroom/laboratory equipment, and monitoring of electrochemistry equipment
Participation in team logistics tasks: monitoring and planning cleanroom cleanliness, managing and ordering consumable stocks
Assisting in technological advancements and the development of new micro- and nanofabrication technologies within IRAM
Candidate Profile
Associate’s degree (DUT/BUT) in physical measurements, chemistry, or equivalent
Experience or affinity with cleanroom work
Specific knowledge of electrochemistry (gold and copper plating) is a plus
Basic knowledge of electronic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope)
Precision and attention to detail
Autonomy
Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork
Good command of English (B2 level)
