IRAM operates two observatories: NOEMA, the interferometer at the Plateau de Bure in the French Alps, and a 30-meter telescope located at Pico Veleta (Spain). These two observatories are among the most advanced radio telescopes in the world.

As part of our instrumental development projects for our observatories, we are looking for:
A Technician in Physical Measurement / Scientific Instrumentation
Job Description:
Attached to the Frontend group, your main tasks will be as follows:
Assistance in assembling high-frequency instruments
Assembly of microwave components (using bonding machine, micro-manipulator)
Preparation of measurement benches and characterization of components
Writing measurement reports
This job may require occasional missions at our observatories in France and Spain.
Profile Required:
DUT or BTS in physical measurements / instrumentation or equivalent
Basic knowledge of electronic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope)
Familiarity with RF instruments would be a plus (VNA, spectrum analyzers)
Knowledge of cryogenics would be an advantage
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, LabView, etc.)
Rigor and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork
What we offer:
Full-time permanent contract
13th-month bonus and other specific bonuses
Salary: €32,000-37,000 depending on profile and experience
