Position:
IRAM is seeking a Linux System Engineer for its IT department in Grenoble as part of a long-term replacement.
This department, composed of a team of six members, is responsible for providing all the computing resources (processing, networking, and storage) required for astronomical observations.
Main Responsibilities:
The Linux System Engineer will oversee the management and development of Linux systems:
Design, deploy, operate, and optimize Linux systems.
Perform technology watch and monitor version updates.
Analyze and resolve system issues.
Ensure system supervision and monitoring.
Provide user support.
Maintain and optimize the intranet's web applications (Redmine, GitLab, WordPress, etc.), all open-source software running on Linux.
Gradually acquire skills to become versatile in handling network and storage systems.
Desired Profile:
Master’s degree or equivalent (BAC +5) in computer science, from an engineering school or university program.
A first professional experience as a Linux System Engineer.
Versatile and with a strong ability to learn quickly.
Passionate about Linux and eager to further develop your expertise.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Holder of a valid driver’s license (Category B).
Motivated to join a dynamic team within a stimulating scientific environment.
Willing to acquire additional skills, particularly in networking and storage.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems.
Experience in Linux system administration, particularly CentOS and Debian.
Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
Knowledge of web technologies (Apache, PHP, MySQL).
What We Offer:
Full-time fixed-term contract (CDD).
Collective working hours: 40 hours per week.
26 vacation days + 28 RTT (14 pre-set by the company).
13th-month bonus.
Salary: €40K to €50K depending on qualifications and experience.
