The French government has tasked the CEA Research & Technology Division with the crucial mission of developing breakthrough innovations and transferring them to French companies to support the nation’s strategic autonomy, create value, and add long-lasting jobs to the economy. The CEA Research & Technology Division is probing issues like digital technology’s potential to create new economic and societal opportunities and create value for our communities; the optimal conditions for clean, environmentally-sustainable alternative energy sources to gain traction; tomorrow’s more personalized, humane, and effective medicine for a rapidly growing—and aging—global population; and, finally, France’s industrial sovereignty and strategic autonomy. There’s a lot at stake. Driven by an organizational culture that values results, the CEA Research & Technology Division is developing deployable innovations in four main areas: digital, energy and climate, health and defense innovation.
