INPI
The French Patent and Trademark Office (INPI) is a major player in the innovation and creation ecosystem in France. It grants patents, registers trademarks and designs, and furthers economic development by its awareness-raising and training actions.
INPI operates the one-stop shop for business formalities (new registrations, changes, striking off) and the French Business Register. It disseminates data on businesses and industrial property.
In France and internationally, INPI actively participates in the development of the law in the following fields: intellectual property, innovation and business competitiveness support, and the fight against counterfeiting.
Lastly, INPI is responsible for the approval of geographical indications for craft and industrial products.
INPI is a self-financed public body placed under the authority of the ministry in charge of industrial property.
