Alpinov X is a start-up based in Grenoble (Fr) that since 2017 has been developing a 1 MW chiller using water as a refrigerant, which is used for its great thermodynamic qualities responding to environmental and energy issues. The chiller operates under vacuum in a closed cycle of evaporation, compression and condensation.
With numerous French and international patents to its credit. The industrialization phase is accompanied by growth in the company's teams and production facilities.

Water, used for its thermodynamic properties, was unjustly sidelined from cold production in the 1930s, in favor of fluorinated compounds. The major environmental issues raised by fluorinated compounds are in conflict with current regulations. Advances in vacuum technology have brought water back to the forefront of the cooling industry. Alpinov X proposes to implement industrial-scale cold production systems with no environmental impact and energy consumption reduced by 15 to 30%.
The cold production process developed by Alpinov X is carried out:

Using water as a refrigerant has many advantages:
