A Doctor of Philosophy and graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, Gabrielle Halpern has worked in the cabinets of the Minister for the Economy and Finance, the Secretary of State for Trade, Craft Trades, Consumer Affairs and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Secretary of State for Research and Higher Education and the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, as "Adviser on Foresight and Discourse", before co-directing a start-up incubator and advising companies and public institutions. She specialised in cognitive science at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and also has a background in theology. She is also an associate expert at the Fondation Jean Jaurès and heads the "Hybridations" collection that she created at Editions de l'Aube. In 2021, she made the front page of the French business newspaper L'Opinion as one of the "intellos influencers".
Her research work, including her doctoral thesis, focuses in particular on the notion of hybridisation as a means of building bridges between worlds. She is the author of the essay "Tous centaures! Eloge de l'hybridation" (Le Pommier, 2020) and other works. She explores the notion of hybridisation in a wide range of fields, including innovation, human resources, organisations, ecology, language, the individual, the economy, art, the silver economy, industry, administration, work, regional planning, science, education, governance, literature, technology, public policy, etc., and society in the broadest sense.
