Description
Mehdi Gmar will take over as head of CNRS Innovation on 1 June 2022. Mehdi Gmar holds an engineering degree in physics (1995 - ENSPG PHELMA) and a doctorate in nuclear instrumentation (2000 - CEA). He began his career at the CEA, where he spent 20 years supervising instrumentation research and then managing technological research for business innovation. He then moved closer to the institutional ecosystem (public players and regions), successively joining the Secrétariat général pour l'investissement (formerly CGI) in 2016 as deputy programme director for research promotion, then the CEA again in 2019 as director of the CEA Tech technology dissemination institute in the regions. In 2021, he will join the cabinet of Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, as adviser in charge of research and industry.
