Description

Born in Paris in July 1963, Nicolas Dufourcq has been Chief Executive Officer of Bpifrance, the public investment bank, since February 2013. In 2022, Bpifrance provided around €17 billion in loans, €4.4 billion in financing (loans and grants) for innovation and €4.9 billion in equity investment in start-ups, SMEs, ETIs and large groups. Among the thousand or so holdings in the portfolio managed by Bpifrance (totalling €50bn) are 10% of Orange, 6.2% of Stellantis, around 14% of ST Microelectronics, around 20% of Eutelsat and around 12% of Doctolib. Finally, since 1 January 2017, Bpifrance has been managing public export guarantees on behalf of the French government. By 2022, €30bn had been granted in credit insurance. A graduate of HEC and ENA, Nicolas Dufourcq began his career at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, followed by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs in 1992. In 1994, he joined France Telecom, where he set up the multimedia division, before becoming Chairman of Wanadoo, France Telecom's Internet and Yellow Pages subsidiary. In 2003, he joined Capgemini, where he initially managed the Central & Southern Europe region, successfully leading its turnaround plan. In September 2004, he was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee. In 2005, he became Executive Vice President in charge of finance, risk management, information systems, delivery and purchasing, and from 2007 onwards, monitoring the Group's major accounts. Nicolas Dufourcq is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ST Microelectronics (non-executive), a member of the Supervisory Board of Stellantis, and a director of the Digital New Deal think tank.
