Ingénieur Système étudiant
Description
Michaël Fuser, 25, is currently in his second year of a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). With a passion for aerospace engineering, he is a systems engineer with the EPFL Rocket Team, a student association dedicated to the design and development of a biliquid rocket capable of reaching an altitude of 100 km before 2030. As head of the structure and propulsion sub-systems of the Firehorn rocket, designed to fly at 30km, Michaël Fuser plays a key role in the design and integration of the space vehicle's critical components. His responsibilities include defining key parameters such as overall architecture, vehicle mass and length, and engine power. These responsibilities have led him to work in detail on the fuel and oxidiser tanks, as well as on the vehicle's various aluminium structural components. He was able to see first-hand just how crucial every gram is in the aerospace industry, and just how much difference the use of high-performance materials can make.
