Description

Ambre Davat is a researcher at Grenoble Alpes University, attached to the GRESEC (Groupe de Recherche sur les Enjeux de la Communication). A graduate of Ense3 (Grenoble INP's engineering school), she defended her doctoral thesis in 2020 on telepresence robots, telecommunication devices designed to transmit the feeling of human presence at a distance. Since then, her research has focused on the social and ethical issues raised by new technologies, particularly in the biomedical field. In particular, she works in collaboration with patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and members of start-ups from the TIMC laboratory, to analyse the way in which representations, needs and uses are taken into account in the design of medical devices. The challenge is to move away from a technology-centred approach to innovation, and involve all stakeholders more fully and as early as possible. From January 2021 to December 2022, it took part in the European RealWorld4Clinic project, which supported the development of a heart failure monitoring system. Since January 2023, she has been a member of the MyHealthCompanions research project, which encompasses several technologies used in prevention and care. She is also a member of the Ethics&IA chair at the Grenoble Institute of Philosophy and the MIAI Institute (Multidisciplinary Institute of Artificial Intelligence), a group of researchers interested in the uses and discourses that accompany so-called 'artificial intelligence' technologies.
