BPIFRANCE INNOVATION

Directeur Exécutif

Description

Paul-François Fournier has been Director of Innovation and a member of the Executive Committee of the Banque Publique d'Investissement (Bpifrance) since April 2013. He is in charge of innovation financing (€4.4bn by 2021), venture capital investments (€7bn under management), and the implementation of the Deeptech and Industrial Start-up Plans. Paul-François Fournier, 54, X-Télécom, joined the France Télécom Orange Group in 1994. After a seven-year career dedicated to developing services for businesses, he became Director of Wanadoo's Broadband Business in 2001, where he was responsible for the take-off of ADSL offerings in France, which grew from a few thousand customers in 2001 to 3 million by the end of 2004, and then internationally as a member of the Wanadoo Group Executive Committee. He led strategic projects such as the launch of Livebox and voice over IP, in partnership with Inventel and Netcentrex, two French start-ups. In addition to his experience in Internet services and partnerships (he was instrumental in Orange's acquisition of Dailymotion, as well as partnerships with Microsoft, Google and Facebook), Paul-François Fournier has an excellent understanding of new business development and organisational transformation. From 2011, he was Executive Director of the Orange Technocentre, in charge of innovation, where he profoundly transformed the organisation with a more regional and decentralised approach. He was also responsible for setting up Bpifrance's Innovation Department, bringing together teams from Oséo, the FSI and CDC Entreprises to ensure the development of French Tech.
