Description
The XCP-ng Hypervisor & Kernel team is looking for a software developer to strengthen the Windows Experience initiative. You will work on multiple software layers, from the Xen hypervisor to our Rust cross-platform tools, in order to improve the compatibility, security and performance of Windows and Linux guests running on XCP-ng.
Primary focus:
• Develop, maintain and document the Rust guest tools software stack and Windows PV drivers
• Diagnose and resolve issues with XCP-ng guests, with a focus on Windows-specific issues
Maintain the testing pipeline for the • XCP-ng guest drivers and tools
Additional responsibilities:
• Maintain the XCP-ng hypervisor, kernel and related packages
• Provide tests and documentation for the above
• Communicate with customers and users
• Other tasks as required by the team
Qualifications:
• Experience developing Windows software
• Familiarity with the design and implementation of virtualization systems
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Familiarity with the Rust or C# programming languages
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
Optional qualifications:
• Familiarity with Xen and its internals
• Familiarity with the Windows and Linux kernel environments
• Familiarity with the x86-64 architecture
• Experience with Windows servicing/imaging/deployment, software packaging for Windows and/or Linux, build automation...
• Familiarity with code analysis and bug finding techniques (sanitizers, CodeQL, Valgrind, etc.)
